Institution

The Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, founded in 1603 by Federico Cesi, is the world’s oldest scientific academy and counts Galileo Galilei among its first members.
 
Considered one of Italy’s highest cultural institution, the Academy is a non-profit body ranked among the top ‘entities of significant importance’.
Since 1992, it acts as scientific advisor to the President of the Italian Republic.
