Profile
Maria Colombo studied in Pisa and got her PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore in 2015. She holds now the Chair of Mathematical Analysis, Calculus of Variations and PDEs at EPFL Lausanne. Maria Colombo studies the regularity theory and the analysis of singular solutions in elliptic PDEs, geometric variational problems, transport equations, and incompressible fluid dynamics. Her research received several awards, including the 2023 ICIAM Collatz prize, the 2022 Lax award, the 2023 De Giorgi Prize.
