Maria Lucia Passador is an Assistant Professor of Corporate and and Financial Markets Law at Bocconi University, where she is also a Research Fellow at the Baffi Centre.

She obtained her Master’s Degree in Law cum laude and then earned a PhD in Business and Social Law from the same institution. She further pursued her education with an LL.M. (Master of Laws) at Harvard, where she was a John M. Olin Fellow in Empirical Law and Finance, a Fellow of the Program on Corporate Governance, and received the Dean’s Scholar Prize.

Her academic work lies at the intersection of corporate law, corporate governance, and financial regulation, with a particular focus on comparative analysis and the implications of empirical studies in the corporate and financial sectors. She is the author of numerous scholarly publications, including articles in Italian and international peer-reviewed journals.

Her academic trajectory has been enriched by experiences at several prestigious institutions, including Harvard, Columbia, Oxford, the University of Luxembourg, the Max Planck Institutes in Hamburg and Luxembourg, and Notre Dame Law School. She is a member of the editorial boards of Rivista delle società and Giurisprudenza italiana.

Alongside a rigorous academic career—culminating in her attainment of the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor—, Maria Lucia has consistently maintained a strong professional engagement, working with leading international law firms.

In 2025, she received the “Feltrinelli Giovani” Award from the National Academy of the Lincei for legal sciences.
