DIRETTA STREAMING
Black holes are among the simplest solutions of Einstein’s equations, yet they are responsible for some of the most violent phenomena that shape the complex evolution of galaxies. In this talk, I will move from the basic description of isolated black holes to the rich variety of astrophysical environments in which they form, live, and evolve. I will discuss their formation, growth through accretion and mergers, and their observational signatures, showing how some yet unanswered questions can be addressed in the context of the emerging field of gravitational-wave astronomy.
