Archaeologist Officer of the Soprintendenza for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan Area of Naples (Ministry of Culture), responsible for Capri, the Sorrento Peninsula and Piana Campana, scientific director of numerous archaeological excavations, including the Naples-Bari High Speed Line. Previously responsible for the Roman collection, the archive and conservation of the collections of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto and research collaborator at the chair of Classical Archaeology of the University of Naples "Federico II".
He is the author of scientific articles and monographs on the sculptural production of the Hellenistic-Roman period in Campania and in central-southern Italy, on iconography and iconology in the classical world, on the maritime villas of the Roman era and on the culture of the ancient world.
He is the scientific director of the "Masgaba" project, concerning the study of the antiquities of the island of Capri. He is scientific director, among others, of the new excavations of Punta Campanella (sanctuary of Athena) and the villa of Gradola (Anacapri). He is responsible for the Area II - Archaeological Heritage at the Soprintendenza of the metropolitan area of Naples.
He has been the director of the civic museum of Acerra, the Museum of History and Archaeology of the Territory of Acerra and Suessula since 2025.
He is the winner of the Antonio Feltrinelli Prize for archaeology awarded in 2022 by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Since May 2023 he has been part of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei as a member of the Centro Interdisciplinare Linceo Giovani. For the Academy, he has published the monograph "Ancient Sacred Sites in the Gulf of Naples: the Sanctuary of Athena at Punta Campanella".
