In parallel with the G7 Summit of Heads of State and Government, the national academies of science of the G7 countries met on 18 and 19 May 2026 in Paris for Science 7 (S7), a scientific dialogue aimed at providing scientific information to support international policy-making.
Organised in 2026 in France by the French Academy of Sciences, S7 brings together annually the national scientific academies of France, Italy, Germany, Canada, the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom. On this occasion, the academies jointly draft statements offering independent and scientifically sound recommendations to G7 leaders.
Three themes have been selected for S7 2026:
• Large Satellite Constellations: Perspectives and Challenges
• The Global Arctic: Unprecedented Change, Global Stakes
• Advancing Brain Health (including Mental Health) for Global Societal Resilience
