Stefano Leonardi is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome, where he leads the research group on algorithms and data science. His work focuses on algorithm theory and more specifically on online and approximation algorithms, algorithmic game theory, economics and computation. He has authored over 180 papers in leading conferences and journals. Throughout his career, he has held visiting faculty positions at Carnegie Mellon, Google, UC Berkeley, and Meta, and New York University. He is ACM Fellow, EATCS Fellow, and member of the Italian Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. He was awarded in 2018 the ERC Advanced Grant for his project on "Algorithm and Mechanism Design Research in Online Markets." He was general chair of major international conferences held in Italy including ACM WSDM 2013, WWW 2015, ACM STOC 2022, and ACM EC 2026.
