Emeritus di The Archaeology of the Roman Empire.
After thirty busy years spent in Rome, passing from student to director of the Insfitutum Romanum Finlandiae, and ten not less busy years at the University of Oxford, I spent the first decade of my refirement finishing the publicafions I owed the Vafican and the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma. Thereafter I returned to the field where my Italian experience started sixty years ago: my last big project consists in a new, digital edifion of Roman brick stamps, Bolli doliari romani dell'Italia centro-occidentale, which is published at the website of the Finnish Insfitute at Rome (bollidoliari.org). The bonds to Rome remain strong.
